Michael Myers Reclaimed Haunted Barn Oak Wall Art — One of a Kind

A large handmade Michael Myers wall piece carved from approximately 100 to 150-year-old reclaimed oak salvaged from an old barn that was locally known as a haunted “murder barn.”

This piece measures approximately 9.5" × 15.25" and was CNC and hand engraved, then individually hand painted, hand aged, distressed, stained, and finished to give it an old, worn, almost unearthed appearance.

The design features Michael Myers behind a raised knife with a deeply carved dimensional portrait, worn blue coveralls, aged mask, dark recessed eye, distressed glove, ornamental frame, skull detail, and carved Halloween pumpkin accent at the top.

I intentionally did not try to make this piece look new or perfect.

The oak itself is a major part of the artwork.

This wood was reclaimed from an old barn before the remaining structure was burned. I was able to purchase and save a quantity of the better surviving lumber. The oak is believed to be approximately 100 to 150 years old, and I wanted to preserve as much of that history and character as possible.

The Back Was Intentionally Left Original

The reverse side has been left largely untouched, just as the wood existed on the barn.

You can still see the old saw marks, uneven surface, age, natural discoloration, grain, wear, and imperfections from its previous life. I chose not to plane or machine all of that history away because, to me, that is part of what makes reclaimed wood special. Especially wood with a story like this.

Because this is genuinely old reclaimed lumber, the back is not perfectly flat or uniform, although the front was prepared flat for the carving and artwork. Natural movement, age marks, slight irregularities, checking, grain variation, and imperfections are expected and are considered part of the piece rather than defects.

This is not a printed image, vinyl sign, or mass-produced decoration. It is an individually carved and hand-finished piece of horror art made from wood that already had a very long history before I ever touched it.

Because of the age and nature of reclaimed lumber, no second piece could ever be exactly the same.
